All of my work is rooted in care, coordination, and connection.
Tiffany M. Favers du Shine
Tiffany is a proud Black queer woman, born and raised in Ohio. She is currently based in Chicago and happy to be back in her beloved midwest. In her professional life, she is a social worker specializing in work with LGBTQ+ older adults. In her personal life, she is a lover of music and dancing, an amateur baker, and an aspiring spiritual healer and playwright.
Tiffany works as a Clinical Team Lead in the Contact Center of the Alzheimer's Association. She received her MSW from the Boston College School of Social Work in May 2015. She also has an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs and a BS in Human Development and Family Science, both from The Ohio State University. Tiffany was raised in a multigenerational family and has a passion for lifespan development. She found a great fit working with older adults and has been working with seniors since 2013 in varying capacities. Tiffany has worked extensively with LGBTQ+ senior groups, helping to increase outreach and programming and decrease health disparities experienced by these groups. Tiffany is a proud alum of Flashback Sunday, an LGBT Elders of Color group based in Boston.
Tiffany became interested in caregiving support and coaching based on her own family's experience with caregiving. Seeing the stress experienced by her loved ones led Tiffany to work towards supporting those who are caregiving through education and emotional support. Tiffany has been offering caregiver support groups and individual coaching since 2019.
In addition to her work with older adults and families, Tiffany has channeled her love of weddings and parties into an event planning business.
Tiffany can often be found seeking out live jazz music, buying treasures and homemade goods from fellow women of color, and having conversations about social inequities and injustice over fancy whiskey-based cocktails.
