Tiffany’s Birthday Book Drive
Hi Friends!
This year I began volunteering with Chicago Books for Women in Prison. This organization does incredible work to send free books to women who are incarcerated. Nearly 75 requests are fulfilled every week to send books to federal and state women’s prisons across the country. We also send books to trans women that are housed in men’s prisons, and to the women’s division in Cook County jail.
The organization is completely volunteer-run run and the largest expenses of this non-profit are for postage to mail out the books. We keep an extensive library but have many highly requested books that just fly off the shelves. For my birthday this year, I am asking that you consider supporting this organization by helping pack our shelves with some of the highly requested books. As a very special thank you, everyone who donates books to CBWP will receive a first and maybe only, never before done Christmas in July card from me! For those who regularly receive Christmas cards, you already know it’s going to be over the top and not to be missed!

So how can you donate?
The easiest way will be to get the books to me and I will drop them off. You can do that by:
Using this amazon wishlist I have set up. This is likely the easiest way and the books will come right to me.
You can order books through Da Book Joint, a Black-owned Chicago bookstore we partner with. Select “Boxville Pick up” and the books will be saved for a volunteer to pick up.
You can get any of these books and additional journals (not wirebound), composition notebooks, and/or puzzle and sudoku books on your own and mail them to me.
If you don’t have the books sent directly to me, please send proof of purchase so I can be sure to thank you!
Thank you all in advance for celebrating my 39th birthday with me by contributing to this wonderful organization! Reach out with any questions!
Sending love,
Tiff
